Mark is an experienced business leader, community builder and current Chief Administrative Officer.
Mark has lived with his family in Hanna for over 20 years. He served as the Mayor of Hanna from 2010 to 2013 as well as sitting on numerous other volunteer boards and committees. Notably, he was on the board of the Hanna Learning Center, has been involved in Stage Hanna as an actor & board member, and has been involved in sports as the coach of his son’s soccer team and as a football referee for over 20 years.
As the CAO of the Village of Delia and the former Mayor of Hanna, he has focused on community building, economic development and communicating with residents. As Mayor, he helped form the Cactus Corridor Economic Development Corporation for Hanna and the surrounding region. He believes that being as open as possible and solving problems are the keys to being successful when helping people.
Before getting involved in public life, he was in business, most notably as a financial services manager for over 15 years. During his time in the financial industry, he learned that to be successful in any endeavor means working with great people.
When he’s not spending time with the family or helping people where he works and lives, Mark can be found at the University of Alberta where he’s working to finish a Masters degree in Business and Public Policy. He currently holds bachelors degrees in economics and finance and believes that you never stop learning whether it's at school or in life.
